Welcome to the Bonfire beta
Bonfire is a character companion built around one idea: spend less time managing a sheet and more time playing the character behind it. You're helping us find out how well that idea works at the table.
Accounts are created manually. Bonfire does not currently offer public sign-up or paid subscriptions.
Getting started
- Ask the beta organizer for an invitation. If you're approved, an account will be created using your email address.
- Visit app.bybonfire.com and sign in with the credentials provided to you separately.
- Use the password-reset option to change your initial password.
- Create a character—or recreate a character you already play—and explore the sheet at your own pace.
What can I try?
Your character, your way
Create a character sheet, view abilities and resources, and explore sections for attacks, spells, skills and other details. The experience is built for small screens and expands for desktop use.
Three ways to work
Normal View keeps your everyday character information close. Quick Edit is for values that change in the middle of play, including HP and other counters. Page Edit is where you can update spells, inventory, attacks and more substantial details behind the scenes.
Companions and homebrew
Create and switch to linked companions, and make room for custom character concepts and homebrew content. Bonfire is intentionally flexible rather than a full rules-enforcement engine; players remain responsible for checking game rules with their group.
What we hope you'll do
Use Bonfire naturally during preparation or an actual tabletop session. There's no need to test every feature. We'd especially love to know what felt helpful, what interrupted your flow, and when you reached for another tool.

- Was something missing for your character or homebrew setup?
- Did Bonfire save the information you expected?
What to expect from beta software
Bonfire is still being improved. Features, interface details and availability may change. Bugs, interruptions and lost edits are possible even after testing. Keep an independent copy of important character information and avoid relying on Bonfire as the only record of a long-running character.
Changes have visible save statuses. If you are offline, wait for confirmation before closing the app. When Bonfire warns that another tab or device changed the same information, refresh the character to load the latest saved version; any conflicting unsaved edit may need to be entered again.
Plans and pricing
The closed beta is free for invited testers. Adventurer, Hero and Legend may appear in the interface as product tiers, but paid subscriptions and checkout are not active. No subscription purchase is required to participate.
Feedback and getting help
Send bugs, ideas and questions to hello@bybonfire.com. If possible, include the screen you were using, your device and browser, what you expected, and what happened instead. Screenshots are welcome, but please avoid including passwords or other sensitive personal information.
Privacy and leaving the beta
Bonfire uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in and Cloud Firestore to store character information. Read our privacy information for more detail, including what still needs verification. If you'd like to leave, email hello@bybonfire.com to request manual account and data deletion. The in-app request dialog does not automatically send an email or delete data.
